The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is scheduled to be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos tomorrow Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
The embattled banker is facing a two-count charge of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition without a license, brought against him by the Department of State Service (DSS).
One of the lawyers to the suspended CBN Governor, Victor Opara (SAN), confirmed that hearing notices to that effect had been issued and sent out by the court to the counsel involved in the matter.
Opara also disclosed that a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Joseph Daudu (SAN), is expected to lead Emefiele’s defence team.
