Some 13,000 police officers are deployed across France on a10th day of mass protests and strikes over controversial pension reforms.
Paris police say 22 people have been arrested in the French capital during demonstrations over pension reforms.
Pictures have shown protesters clashing with the police in increasingly violent scenes, with teargas used to disperse the protesters.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said the high number – a record for France – was justified by “a major risk to public order.”
