The Federal Executive Council meeting yesterday approved the resolution for the procurement and installation of Electronic Cargo Tracking Devices for port operations across the country.
Briefing State House correspondents after the FEC meeting, in Abuja, the Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, said that the cargo tracking device would aid port operators in detecting under-declaration of goods meant for import or export, ensure accurate invoicing, and also help shore up the revenue base of government from $90 million to $235 million per annum.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Minister of Power, Engr Abubakar Aliyu disclosed that the council approved $53.1 million and N2.1 billion as a local component for the procurement and installation of electricity conductors to boost power supply nationwide.
