Tinubu In Nairobi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Nairobi in the early hours of Monday to attend the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level gathering focused on Africa’s economic transformation and partnerships. His aircraft touched down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time.

The President was received by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, and senior Kenyan officials, alongside members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya. The summit is co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to Presidential Media aide, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu’s participation signals Nigeria’s commitment to advancing African unity, strengthening regional economic cooperation, and building strategic partnerships for sustainable development. The summit brings together heads of state, policymakers, business leaders, and development partners to discuss trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure, climate resilience, and collective prosperity.

During the summit, the President is expected to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings aimed at deepening Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties across the continent. Officials say his attendance also reaffirms Nigeria’s role in shaping Africa’s future and advancing African-led solutions to regional challenges.

Tinubu is accompanied by a delegation that includes Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Ojukwu, Agriculture Minister Abubakar Kyari, Marine and Blue Economy Minister Adegboyega Oyetola, Environment Minister Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Industry, Trade and Investment Minister Jumoke Oduwole, and Communications Minister Bosun Tijani. Also on the trip are NIPC CEO, Minister of State designate for Foreign Affairs Sola Enikanolaiye, NCCC DG Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France Ayodele Oke.
