Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yaba, Ebute Metta West and Ebute Metta East have thrown their weight behind Prince Hon. Abdulakeem Omolaja Animashahun ahead of the party’s primary election for the Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency seat, while also appealing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to enforce zoning in the constituency.
The endorsement came during the official flag-off of Animashahun’s campaign, which attracted party leaders, community stakeholders, grassroots mobilisers and supporters from across the constituency.
The stakeholders used the gathering to call for an end to what they described as the 27-year political marginalization of Ebute Metta West, insisting that fairness and equity should guide the emergence of the APC candidate for the House of Representatives seat also reaffirmed the success of President Tinubu second term bid In the upcoming general election
Speaking at the event, Dr. Segun Oshile reflected on his family’s political history in Yaba and Lagos Mainland, recalling the contributions of his grandfather, the late J.B. Oshile, to politics in the area, describing Animashahun as humble, accessible and visionary, noting the aspirant possesses the leadership qualities required to provide effective representation for the people of Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency.
Mr. Anthony Clever said the constituency would benefit from electing a representative with both legal expertise and strong community ties, while Hon. John Obalade and Mr. Femu Olayide highlighted the need to strengthen local government structures and expand social intervention programmes for residents.
According to them, quality representation at the federal level would complement ongoing developmental efforts within communities across the constituency.
Animashahun assured residents that if elected, he would pursue policies and programmes that directly address grassroots needs while maintaining close engagement with the people.
