Nigerian attackers, Ademola Lookman netted a historic hat-trick to help Atalanta defeat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final in Dublin last night.
Lookman is now the first player to score a hat-trick in a Europa League final.
The win helped Atalanta end a 61-year trophy drought while devastating Bayer Leverkusen’s dream of an unbeaten season in the Europa League final.
Atalanta now have a second trophy to add next to the 1963 Coppa Italia in their cabinet.
And the victory last night also books them a place in next season’s Champions League, which was not yet guaranteed through Serie A.
