Portugal national football team defeated Nigeria national football team 2-1 in an international friendly match as the European side continued preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup with another victory.
Portugal took the lead through winger Pedro Neto, who found the back of the net in the opening stages to give the hosts an early advantage.
The Super Eagles responded positively and eventually drew level through striker Akor Adams, whose equaliser restored hope for Nigeria and briefly silenced the home crowd.
Despite Nigeria’s improved display after the break, Portugal regained the lead when substitute Francisco Conceição produced a moment of brilliance, curling a superb effort into the far corner to hand the hosts the winning goal.
The result ensured Portugal heads into the World Cup on the back of consecutive victories, further boosting confidence within the squad ahead of the global tournament.
