The United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Wednesday officially commissioned the ‘American Corner’ located in the Lekki area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
The establishment of this space aligns with the Biden Administration’s U.S. Strategy toward Sub-Saharan Africa, with a specific focus on driving digital transformation and fostering an inclusive digital ecosystem.
The ‘American Corner’ is envisioned as a hub for technological advancements and a catalyst for the development of digital skills among the Nigerian youth.
During the inauguration, Secretary Blinken was joined by Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy in Nigeria, along with other U.S. government officials.
The collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen ties, promote technological advancement, and empower the younger generation.
