Following their dominant 5-0 win in the reverse encounter in Abuja, Nigeria maintained their superiority, despite missing star players Asisat Oshoala and Ashleigh Plumptre.
Cape Verde took an early lead with Ivania Moreira’s 8th-minute goal, maintaining the advantage into halftime. The Super Falcons pressed for an equalizer, and Esther Okoronkwo’s solo finish in the 62nd minute leveled the score, with RasheedatAjibade sealing the win with a goal in the 93rd minute.
