Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, remains hopeful about goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s availability for the quarter-final fixture against Angola, despite sustaining a knee injury.
Nwabali was forced to leave the field during Nigeria’s 2-0 victory against Cameroon and subsequently sat out training on Monday night.
Peseiro informed reporters that Nwabali would undergo another test on Wednesday to assess his fitness.
The Chippa United shot-stopper’s participation in the crucial match against Angola will depend on the results of the upcoming test.
The Super Eagles are set to face the Palancas Negras at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Friday.
