A suicide bomber has killed at least 45 people at a political rally, in Pakistan.
People screamed for help as rescuers rushed to the scene in the north-west Bajaur district on Sunday, according to the rally organiser Imran Mahir.
The attack targeted the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), a party that is part of the government coalition.
The local branch of the Islamic State (IS) group in Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the bombing, naming the man responsible as Abdullah Muhajir.
The group, who go by the name Islamic State Khorasan (ISKP), said the attack was part of an “ongoing war against democracy”.
