The Senate has again resolved to re-investigate the controversial disbursement of N500 billion loan by Development Bank of Nigeria to the SIX GEOPOLITICAL ZONES in order to understand the rationale behind the “uneven disbursements.”
Efforts to bring back the controversial motion by the sponsor, Ali Ndume had suffered a setback last Wednesday as the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, stood it down and advised the sponsor to re- present it. Sen. Ndume who raised the motion once again today queried the rationale behind the disbursement, noting that some states were not considered for the loan.
Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that during the deliberations, some lawmakers insisted that the disbursement was not favourable to some regions, while others reminded them that the loan had criteria to be met.
