Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) took to the streets of Lagos State to voice their grievances regarding the prevailing economic challenges.
The protest also aimed to draw attention to the alleged failure of the government to implement agreements reached between the NLC and the government on October 2, 2023, following the removal of fuel subsidy.
The decision to protest came after the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government to address the widespread hardship being experienced by citizens. In response, NLC members gathered in large numbers at the Ikeja underbridge, where they sang and danced while urging the government to address their demands.
The protest is set to continue tomorrow as NLC members remain steadfast in their quest for improved living conditions and the implementation of agreements to alleviate economic hardship.
