Renowned American actress Cameron Diaz has described her decade-long retirement from acting as “the best 10 years” of her life.
The Hollywood star is set to make her much-anticipated return to the big screen this month in the spy thriller Back in Action.
In the film, Diaz stars alongside Jamie Foxx, with the duo portraying a married couple who are retired secret agents but find themselves being hunted.
This project reunites Diaz and Foxx, who last appeared together in the 2014 remake of Annie, where Diaz played the role of the scheming Ms. Hannigan.
Although Diaz is making headlines for her comeback, it remains unclear whether this marks a permanent return to acting or a one-off project. Now 52 years old, Diaz has largely stayed away from the entertainment industry since her role in Annie.
During her time away from Hollywood, she focused on her personal life, including marriage, motherhood, and ventures such as her organic wine brand, Avaline.
Diaz has been candid about her break from the limelight, saying the time away allowed her to focus on herself, her family, and other pursuits. “It was the best 10 years of my life,” she said, reflecting on her retirement.
