The House of Representatives has “Condemned in strong terms” the reported call for an interim Government.
In a motion of urgent public importance, Hon. Unyime Idem, had noted that the INTERIM GOVERNMENT is undemocratic and unconstitutional, as the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, part 1, section 132, allows for change of leadership through the ballots.
Correspondent Nathan Williams reports that while expressing their displeasure over the motion, Honorable SAGIUS OGUN and OSSAI NICOLAS OSSAI respectively, recalled that billions have been budgeted to the National Security Adviser, yet security agencies are not carrying out their job effectively – and have further “refused to mention names of individuals” allegedly plotting to install an interim Government in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, other lawmakers; Hon. Sahad Abdukadri, Hon. Nkiri Ihejiocha and Hon. Julius Ihonvbere respectively had called for an urgent need to address the situation.
