Bendel Insurance FC of Benin on Saturday defeated ASO Chlef FC of Algeria 4-3 via penalty shootout to advance to the next stage of the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup.

The game ended on 1-1 aggregate after two legs played.

Also Nine-time Nigerian league winners Enyimba have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League.

Enyimba played a 0-0 draw against Al Ahli Benghazi of Libya in the return leg yesterday, having lost 4-3 from the first leg. This is the first time since 2015 that the Nigerian champions will be eliminated in the preliminary round of the tournament they have won twice.

Ghanaian side Medeama have also defeated Remo Stars via penalties to reach the next round of the CAF Champions League, after both sides ended the aggregate 1-1 from two legs.
