Arsenal booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in two decades after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
Bukayo Saka proved the difference at the Emirates Stadium, scoring late in the first half to settle the semi-final second leg and send the home fans into celebration.
Manager Mikel Arteta saw his side produce a disciplined performance, holding firm after Saka’s strike to secure a 2-1 aggregate win, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Madrid.
The Gunners will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich in the final, scheduled to take place in Budapest on May 30.
Defending champions PSG, who eliminated Arsenal at the same stage last season, currently hold a narrow 5-4 advantage ahead of their decisive second leg clash in Munich.
