Lamine Yamal says he and Kylian Mbappe are the two best players in the world and believes he deserves to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

The 19-year-old made the claim in an interview with Movistar Plus, saying his performances and trophies this year make him a strong candidate for the award.

Yamal helped Barcelona retain the La Liga title before playing a key role as Spain won the World Cup this summer.

Mbappe is also among the leading contenders after finishing as top scorer in La Liga, the Champions League and the World Cup, although Real Madrid ended the season without a major trophy.

Yamal’s ex-Barcelona teammate Ousmane Dembele, last year’s Ballon d’Or winner, has backed another Paris Saint-Germain player, saying the award should remain at the French club after PSG retained the Champions League.
