Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his gratitude to the United States House of Representatives for approving a new package of military assistance for his country, after months of delays.
The US House passed a $95bn legislative package on Saturday, providing security assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
Specifically, the foreign aid package allocates some $26.38bn for Israel, including $9.1bn for humanitarian needs, $60.84bn to address the conflict in Ukraine, and $8.12bn go to the Asia Pacific, including Taiwan.
Zelensky said the aid, which is expected to be approved soon in the Senate and sent to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature, could save thousands of lives.
