As part of its commitment to customer service satisfaction and creating an enabling learning environment, the University of Lagos says it’s committed to providing excellent services to its staff and students in the university and its host community.
Vice-Chancellor Folashade Ogunsola stated this at the University commemoration of this year’s customer service week and awards to awardees in the university, noting that irrespective of the challenging economy, the University is committed to providing quality services to its teaming students and staffs.
‘’in Nigeria many things don’t work, but, things can work better if people stood up and do a little bit more and I think that’s why this particular theme for this year customer service week resonate; ‘’ Above and Beyond’’. If things are going to get better, each of us is delivering service and we must step up and do a little bit more’’.
‘’we recognize the gaps, the complains, but it’s not going to be solved by government alone, it’s going to be solved by each one of us in our different areas. Let’s leave everybody feeling better about themselves and that is the message we want to pass she said’’.
In a presentation, Chief executive officer SERVICOM Nigeria, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli charged the university staffs and students to remain committed in delivering their promises, ensuring personal touch of life in their services and resolving problems timely which she highlighted are service charted in the customer service satisfaction charter
Director Quality Assurance, University of Lagos, Professor Olufemi Saibu explained that the customer service satisfaction week reflects the quality service delivery in the university with a charge to students and staffs to keep the bar high amongst its contemporaries.
‘’University of Lagos in recent time is taking a bold step to ensure that we are not just producing graduates, but producing graduates that are feat for purpose, future ready and taking global challenges to resolve.’’
‘’As a result of that, we have put in place a quality assurance mechanism that ensures that we follow processes and regulations. the university of Lagos have gone far above their peers in terms of ensuring that people do their work at the right time and with the right purpose and our students are given opportunities that are far beyond certificates he said.’’
Correspondent reports that the event witnessed monetary awards to students who excel in their essay writing on the importance of a satisfactory customer service and also award were given to staffs of the University for their Exceptional Services to the day-to-day running of the university.
