Fresh from winning her first Diamond League race in Stockholm, World Record holder, Tobi Amusan emerged as the new Nigerian national champion for a third consecutive time after she took apart the women’s 100m hurdles field at the ongoing National Trials in Benin City, Edo state, finishing in a time of 12.70s under drizzling rain.
The win makes it her 4th National title.
Nigeria’s best athletes are battling it out at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, from July 5th -7th for the Nigeria Athletics Trials organized by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) to crown new national champions and select the team that will represent the country at the forthcoming World Championships in Budapest.
