Kofi Bartels is a multi award-winning broadcast journalist and On-Air Personality with 14 years in the industry.
With an academic background in marketing, Kofi made his foray into the broadcast industry in 2007 with Cross River Broadcasting Corporation where he quickly became a household name on radio and television in Cross River State. In 2012, he joined the AIM Group, owners of the Cool FM, Wazobia FM, and Nigeria Info media brands and was sent to Port Harcourt as part of the team to start Nigeria’s first full-fledged talk radio station, Nigeria Info FM, in that part of the country. He quickly became a household name in Rivers State, with the station becoming the people’s favourite.
His time as Head OAP saw a number of pace-setting innovations at Nigeria Info FM. Kofi later joined the start-up team for Nigeria’s newest news television station, Atlantic Television Network where he was Head of Content and Talent.
Kofi Bartels has received numerous mentions, recognitions and awards, including being placed on the YNaija100 list of Nigeria’s most influential On-Air Personalities, a number of Best On-Air Personality awards, mention by Amnesty International as a voice in Nigeria’s media space, mention by United States Congressmen in a letter on press freedom in Nigeria. Kofi Bartels also planned and moderated the first and second Rivers State governorship debates. He has spoken at and moderated several national and international events.
Kofi Bartels is also an accomplished Master of Ceremonies with more than two hundred events under his belt.
