The Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team, are scheduled to resume camping in Uyo on September 1, 2024, as they prepare for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Benin and Rwanda.
The three-time African champions will face the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in their first qualifier on September 7 at 5 pm. The match will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Following this encounter, the team will travel to Rwanda for their second AFCON qualifier, scheduled for three days later, against another rival in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series.
However, the Super Eagles are currently without a head coach after Finidi George’s departure in June. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has yet to appoint a new manager, creating uncertainty as the team prepares for these crucial matches.
With the upcoming qualifiers fast approaching, the NFF’s decision on the coaching position will be pivotal in shaping the Super Eagles’ performance as they aim to secure their place in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
