STAKEHOLDERS CALLS FOR MORE ATTENTION ON THE BOY CHILD, AS WORLD MARKS INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE BOY CHILD

Stakeholders in the education sector have called on government and policy makers to invest in the male child, noting the benefit Remain enormous to the communities and society at large.

Principal, Well spring College Lagos, Mr. Innocent Agofure stated this at this year’s international Day for the boy child with theme: Passion and Drive: Igniting the fire within the boy child.

Mr. Agofure noted that the school gave deployed  the use of technology, Artificial intelligence to enable the male students compete favorably with the girl child, stressing the boy child too deserve some form of attention.

“We are preparing them for the future of tomorrow. we have gone beyond traditional profession of teaching and that’s why in our school we have deployed full technology in our teaching and learning environment such that our students can compete favourably with their contemporaries wheresover “.

“So for us as a school, the boy child is as important as the girl child and that’s why we are clamouring that the boy child should be give some form of attention. we know a special ministry might obviously not be created for them, hence the need for more advocacy for the boy child”.

The General Manager, Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA, Mr. Afolabi Solebo in his address tasked the young male students to remain committed to learn new things and seek mentorship and guide in their future endeavors.

“We believe boys can be powerful, metaphorical, inspiring, motivating for them to rech their goal and potential. we need to encourage their passion, providing them with positive role model and most importantly, mentorship”.

” Fostering the mindset of this children is very important especially the boy child and building their self esteem, while teaching them resilient, encouraging them on team work and living by example for them. there are so many things parents do that their children watch and learn to replicate such acts”.
               
Guest speaker, Mr. Tochukwu Mcfoy, AKA McFoy and a digital content award winner at the just concluded African Magic Viewer’s Choice Award, AMVCA Layi Wasabi both threw their weight behind the initiative for family and society to pay attention to the boy child of the society must curb societal vices and make our community safe for all.
