Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, says the parliament will pass the Electoral Offences Commission Bill before the end of the ninth national assembly to address the lack of Prosecution of Electoral Offenders.
Gbajabiamila yesterday at the resumed plenary after the election break noted that there were reported incidents of thuggery, voter intimidation and suppression.
Our correspondent Nathan Williams reports that Gbajabiamila also said the 2022 Electoral Act has been “particularly instrumental” in improving the elections process, especially the use of technology for voter accreditation and results transmission.
