Seventh Batch Of Nigerians Evacuated From Sudan Arrive Abuja

The Seventh batch of over 800 stranded Nigerians, evacuated from the conflict-ridden Sudan, has arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Dr Sani Gwarzo, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, who indicted this, said over 700 more citizens would arrive today from the Egypt borders.

With a total of 834 Nigerian evacuees airlifted via Max Air, Azman Air from Aswan, Egypt, and Tarco Airlines from Port Sudan as at Sunday, it brings to 1,471 the number of Nigerians so far evacuated and brought back to Nigeria from Egypt and Port Sudan in five days. More donations have also been promised the evacuees when they touch down Nigeria, as Aliko Dangote gave N100,000 to each of them, and mobile network provider MTN promised recharge credit of N25,000
