Authorities in Kogi State have begun a coordinated search for armed men who stormed Government Secondary School, Odo-Ekina, abducting four students, the school principal, and a NECO ad hoc official.

The Kogi State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying one of the victims has been rescued, while efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining abductees.

Police spokesperson Saliu Afusat said the Commissioner of Police, Naziru Bello Kankarofi, alongside other top security officials, visited the scene to assess the situation and coordinate the rescue operation.

The Kogi State Government said Governor Usman Ododo had directed security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend those responsible for the attack. The operation is being coordinated by the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd.), with support from security and intelligence agencies.

The government assured residents that every effort is being made to secure the victims’ safe return and urged members of the public to provide credible information that could assist the ongoing operation.
