Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called for increased support from the World Bank Group after Lagos emerged as Nigeria’s top-ranked state in the 2025 Ease of Doing Business report.
Sanwo-Olu made the call while meeting a World Bank delegation led by Managing Director for Operations, Anna Bjerde, and IFC Regional Vice President for Africa, Ethiopia Tafara, at Lagos House, Marina.
He said Lagos climbed from 29th place four years ago to first position through consistent reforms and stronger accountability. The governor identified energy, agriculture, tourism, and human capital development as priority areas for collaboration, adding that Lagos is seeking investments to improve infrastructure and living standards.
