The House of Representatives on Wednesday rejected the claim that lawmakers got N100 million each as palliatives from the Federal Government.
Its spokesman Akin Rotimi, in a statement, described a claim by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Assistant General Secretary, Christopher Onyeka, as baseless.
The House of Representatives demands an immediate retraction of the allegation and a public apology from the Nigeria Labour Congress.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened to commence an indefinite strike from next week should the federal government fail to address issues around providing palliatives to assuage Nigeria’s hardship.
The NLC said the industrial action may commence anytime from next week would lead to an indefinite shutdown of commercial and economic activities across the country.
Our correspondent Ayo Agbeoluwaye made efforts to get reactions from the NLC Public Relations Officer, Mr. Benson Upah who however maintained that the threats of the indefinite strike handed down to the federal government remains unchanged.
