The clarification followed on social media after Regina was spotted at Nwoko’s residence, prompting claims that the couple may have resolved.
Regina and Nwoko’s relationship has been the subject of intense public attention in recent months amid reports of a strained marriage and their apparent separation.
However, Rita Daniels said Regina’s visit was strictly to see her children and should not be interpreted as a reconciliation.
Rita made the clarification in a private Instagram conversation with actor Uche Maduagwu, who subsequently shared the exchange publicly.
“It is well, my dear. She was invited to see her children, that was what happened. Thanks a lot for your support and concern,” Rita said.
Her explanation is consistent with an earlier clarification from Regina’s younger sister, Destiny Daniels, who also addressed the growing speculation on her Instagram Story.
Destiny said her sister had been allowed to visit her children and urged the public not to interpret the visit as evidence that she had returned to the marriage.
Destiny was particularly categorical about her sister’s relationship status, describing Regina as “still very much single for now.”
The clarification came after the actress’ visit triggered mixed reactions online, particularly among individuals and celebrities who had publicly supported her during her reported marital difficulties.
One of those who expressed frustration was actor and activist Stanley Ontop, who has been vocal in his support for Regina during the fallout surrounding her relationship with Nwoko.
Stanley said the development left him in an uncomfortable position with activists who had supported Regina, explaining that some of them had relied on his previous statements that the actress would not return to Nwoko’s residence.
He recalled the extent of his involvement in the controversy, claiming that he had faced the possibility of arrest after publicly sharing footage related to an earlier incident involving Regina at Nwoko’s residence.
“I almost went to prison because of this case,” Stanley said, adding that he understood Regina may have gone to see her children but questioned why she appeared so relaxed during the visit.
