Barcelona continued their winning start to the La Liga season with a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao at the partially rebuilt Camp Nou.

Raphinha put the hosts ahead in the 37th minute, rounding goalkeeper Unai Simon before calmly finishing. Fermin Lopez sealed the win in the 82nd minute as Barcelona maintained control despite missing several chances.

Coach Hansi Flick made three changes from the side that defeated Elche 5-0 last weekend. New signing Rodri made his Barcelona debut, while Anthony Gordon earned his first start for the club.

Barcelona dominated the game and came close to scoring several times, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal both going close before the opener. Yamal later forced a strong save from Simon before half-time.

Flick continued to use Raphinha as a makeshift No. 9 following the departures of Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. The Brazilian has now continued his strong scoring form from that role, adding another goal after his two-goal performance against Elche.

The result keeps Barcelona’s perfect record intact as they look to defend their La Liga title.
