President Tinubu Signs Bill Returning Old Anthem Into Law

President Bola Tinubu has launched the recitation of the new National anthem before a joint session of the National Assembly to mark the Silver Jubilee Of Nigeria’s, 4th Republic.

President Bola Tinubu has launched the recitation of the new National anthem before a joint session of the National Assembly to mark the Silver Jubilee Of Nigeria’s, 4th Republic.

The President had earlier assented to the Bill that reverted Nigeria to the Old National Anthem, “Nigeria, we hail thee”, composed when Nigeria gained independence on October 1, 1960, replacing the “Arise, O Compatriots” anthem.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that President Tinubu also hinted that he will bring the 2024 Supplementary bill before the National Assembly.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and The Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen says the introduction of the old national anthem, ‘Nigeria we hail thee’ marks the beginning of the revolution that Nigerians have been yearning for.
