President Tinubu Gives Military ‘Full Authority’ To Bring Soldiers’ Killers To Justice

President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the killing of military personnel in Delta State, denouncing the perpetrators as “cowardly” and calling for justice to be served.

The tragic incident occurred in the Okuama community of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State during a rescue mission, resulting in the death of a commanding officer, two majors, one captain, twelve soldiers, and a civilian.

In his message released on Sunday evening, President Tinubu described the killings as “unprovoked” and “dreadful,” expressing profound grief over the loss of the gallant soldiers. As the Commander-in-Chief, he joined all well-meaning Nigerians and the armed forces in mourning the fallen heroes.

Acknowledging the dangers faced by servicemen and women in the line of duty, President Tinubu commended their heroism, courage, and patriotism. He emphasized that any attack on the armed forces is a direct attack on the nation, vowing not to accept such a wicked act.

Granting full authority to the Defence Headquarters and Chief of Defence Staff, President Tinubu called for the perpetrators of this unconscionable crime to be brought to justice. He affirmed that his government will relentlessly pursue peace and tranquility in every part of Nigeria.
