President Tinubu approves take-off of Consumer Credit Scheme

President Bola Tinubu has approved the take-off of the first phase of the Consumer Credit Scheme (CCS) starting with members of the civil service.

According to a statement today by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, the initiative, in collaboration with financial institutions and cooperatives nationwide, serves as the lifeblood of modern economies, enabling citizens to enhance their quality of life by accessing goods and services upfront, paying responsibly over time.

Ngelale said that the president believed every hardworking Nigerian should have access to social mobility, with consumer credit facilitating crucial purchases, such as homes, vehicles, education, and healthcare, essential for ongoing stability to pursue their aspirations.

He further noted that working Nigerians interested in receiving consumer credit can visit www.credicorp.ng to express interest before the deadline of May 15.
