President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Nigerian Senate, seeking approval of the reimbursement of N9.69 billion to Plateau and Borno states as “funds expended on federal roads”, which fell within the period before the federal government put a stop to such interventions.

According to the letter read by the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan during plenary, the refund would be carried out in the form of a promissory note payable to Plateau and Borno States Government for the rehabilitation of Federal highways in the country.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Senate also read three other letters from President Buhari, transmitting to the upper chamber for consideration and passage, the Nigerian Police Force College Training School and Institution (Establishment) Bill, 2023, Transmission of the Nigeria Data Protection Bill and Confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Abdu Abubakar as Non-Executive Director of Central Bank of Nigeria for a 2nd and final term.
