Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, says he plans to return to school years after financial challenges forced him to drop out of Kwara State Polytechnic.

Speaking in a preview of the Honest Brunch Podcast, set for release on YouTube on Monday, the singer said he still hopes to complete his education despite achieving success in the music industry.

Portable explained that he was forced to leave school because he could no longer afford the fees. He recalled selling sachet water to support himself but eventually had to abandon his studies after losing financial support.

The singer said he now takes care of his family and supports his father, adding that although he was once considered the least academically gifted among his siblings, his success has enabled him to provide for his loved ones.

Encouraging young people to value education, Portable said academic qualifications are important but do not always determine success. He maintained that people can achieve success through different paths and still return to complete their education.
