French club Monaco will release former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba after recurring injuries.

The 33-year-old 2018 World Cup winner with France joined Monaco while working to rebuild his career following a doping ban, but injuries have limited his return to top-level football.

Monaco said Pogba achieved only part of the targets agreed when he joined, prompting the club to end his contract early. His deal was originally scheduled to run until June 2027.

Pogba currently faces another setback with a thigh injury after recently recovering from a knee problem.

Despite his limited playing time, Monaco praised his professionalism, determination and influence within the squad, noting that he shared his experience with younger teammates during his injury periods.
