Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor has explained why she has spent years portraying witches, wicked mothers-in-law and other villainous characters on screen.

Speaking during a livestreamed interview with content creator Carter Efe, Ozokwor said she believes God gave her a special niche in Nollywood.

The actress, known for her memorable villain roles, said she uses the characters to deliver moral lessons rather than simply create drama. According to her, portraying extreme wickedness allows viewers to see the consequences of harmful behaviour.

Ozokwor also stressed that her screen roles do not reflect her personal values. She said she dislikes injustice, conflict and violence, but gives each villain character her full commitment when she accepts the role.

She explained that her goal is to make audiences think about the real-life consequences of their actions while enjoying the story.
