‘Out Of Touch With Reality’, NLC Faults Tinubu’s Speech On Palliatives

The NLC has faulted the palliative measures announced by President Bola Tinubu to cushion the biting effect of petrol subsidy removal on Nigerians, saying the programmes to be rolled out by the APC government are “totally out of touch with economic realities and hardship” currently being faced by poor citizens.

Organized labour has insisted its planned Nationwide protest slated for today August 2nd over the removal of petroleum subsidy, will go ahead.

Speaking to newsmen NLC President, Joe Ajaero, said the plan for a peaceful protest from Wednesday has not changed, as he expressed doubts about the President’s ability to control inflation and gasoline prices, due to the unification of the exchange rate.
