Oro Festival Won’t Affect Elections – Oba Of Elegushi

The traditional ruler of the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom in Lagos State, Saheed Ademola, has assured that the March 2023 Oro festival “would not affect the governorship elections” slated for Saturday.

The monarch made the clarifications in a text message yesterday sent to the PUNCH newspapers in Abuja.

Certain media organizations had reported that the monarch fixed the traditional rite on Election Day.

However, speaking with the press, his media aide, Temitope Oyefeso, had clarified that the restriction of movement for the Oro rites in Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Eti-Osa is from Wednesday to Friday, 12 midnight to 5 am on each day, adding that Election Day is not included.
