Organized Labour insist on terms over new minimum wage after meeting with President Tinubu

The Lagos State Government has announced a complete closure of the stretch of road from Osborne Foreshore Estate Phase 1 to Adeniji ramp.

The Lagos State Government has announced a complete closure of the stretch of road from Osborne Foreshore Estate Phase 1 to Adeniji ramp.

This closure is to facilitate the Federal Ministry of Works in laying asphalt on the section, ensuring improved road quality and better traffic management.

In a statement issued by the Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on Thursday, the closure will commence at 12 midnight on Saturday, July 13th, and is scheduled to end at 5 am on Monday, July 15th, 2024.

To mitigate the impact of the closure, Commissioner Osiyemi advised motorists to use existing alternative routes. He provided detailed guidance for different sets of drivers to ensure smooth travel during the closure period.

Motorists from Alexander/Glover are advised to make use of Oba Adeyinka Oyekan Avenue inwards Ikoyi to connect to Obalende/Ring Road. From there, they can access the 3rd Mainland Bridge to reach their desired destinations. Those coming from Victoria Island should go through Falomo Roundabout to link Awolowo Road, which will provide access to the 3rd Mainland Bridge.

Alternatively, drivers can utilize Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue to link Mekunwen Bridge and proceed to CMS/Apongbon Bridge inwards Eko Bridge to access Funsho Williams Avenue and continue to their destinations.

Commissioner Osiyemi implored motorists to be patient and cooperate with the traffic management plans. He emphasized that the closure is a necessary part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance road infrastructure and improve the overall journey experience for all road users in Lagos.

“The closure is crucial for the completion of the asphalt laying process, which is expected to significantly enhance road conditions in the area. We ask for patience and understanding from motorists as we work towards providing a better and smoother travel experience for everyone,” Osiyemi stated.

The Lagos State Government assures the public that all efforts are being made to minimize inconvenience and ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated time frame.
