NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s three-week holiday in Europe, saying the President should focus more on Nigeria’s pressing economic and security problems.

The Presidency said Tinubu began his annual leave in London on Sunday and plans to return to Nigeria ahead of the January 2027 election campaign.

Obi said the President should prioritise issues affecting Nigerians, including food and transport costs, insecurity, healthcare and access to education.

He also called for greater investment in domestic tourism, arguing that travel within Nigeria could create jobs and support businesses in hospitality, transport, agriculture, entertainment and other sectors.

Obi said Nigeria should do more to develop its own economic and tourism potential instead of spending heavily on experiences abroad while local opportunities remain underdeveloped.
