Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, commends the rescue of the abducted Oyo State students and teachers, describing it as a victory for the country and a boost to public confidence in the nation’s security efforts.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola, Obasa commended President Bola Tinubu, the Federal Government, the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Army, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for their coordinated efforts that led to the successful rescue of the victims after weeks in captivity.

He said the operation has brought relief to the affected families and commended the security agencies for their dedication and resilience throughout the rescue mission.

Obasa also praised the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) for standing by its members during the ordeal, recalling that the Lagos State Wing of the NUT staged a protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly in June to demand the safe release of the victims.

The Speaker said the successful rescue demonstrates the importance of collaboration between government, security agencies, and communities, urging continued commitment to protecting schools and ensuring the safety of children across the country.
