Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has rejoined South African Premier Soccer League side Chippa United, five months after leaving the club by mutual agreement.

Chippa United announced the 30-year-old’s return on Sunday in a statement shared on its official X account, confirming that he will be part of the squad for the 2026/27 season.

Nwabali first joined the Chilli Boys from Katsina United in 2022 and rose to national prominence after his outstanding performances for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he played a key role in Nigeria’s run to the final.

He left Chippa United in February 2026 after both parties agreed to terminate his contract. His spell without a club subsequently affected his place in the Super Eagles, with the goalkeeper missing several national team matches.

The South African club said it was pleased to welcome Nwabali back and expressed confidence that his return would strengthen the squad ahead of the new Premier Soccer League season.
