The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Allied Institutions have called off their strike actions, which they had embarked on back in March.
The unions announced their latest decision after a brief meeting with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, at the weekend.
President of SSANU, Mohammed Haruna Ibrahim, disclosed that the unions have decided to shelve the strike for 60-days to give the government time to resolve their grievances, and implement all agreements reached by all the parties.
The suspension, which does not cover ASUU, however, is expected to take effect from Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
