Nigeria’s Flamingos Run Riot in FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Opener Against New Zealand

Nigeria’s under-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, led by head coach Bankole Olowookere recorded a 4-1 victory against New Zealand, in their opener of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup campaign.

The Flamingos who won a bronze medal at the last edition in India, return to action in their second group game against Ecuador scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024. 

The 8th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which kicked off yesterday, is hosted by theDominican Republic.

In other results Champions Spain beat USA 3-1 in their opener, Ecuador defeated host Dominican Republic 2-nil, while South Korea drew 1-1 with Colombia.
