President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated the call to the leadership of the Nigeria Police of high expectations from them in relation to the provision of requisite security ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
The President who spoke at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, as he commissioned Critical Operational Assets procured by the Nigeria Police Force commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba for advancing the Police Reform Agenda of his Administration and for the several initiatives he had brought to the Force.
Our correspondent Nathan Williams reports that the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, informed President Buhari that the Ministry of Police Affairs had in recent years rolled out robust logistical support and effective policy environment to complement the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force.
Meanwhile, in the quest to achieve an ideal environment for safe, secured and credible Elections, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, also today met with Strategic Managers of the Nigeria Police Force comprising Deputy Inspectors-General of Police and members of the Force Management Team, amongst others across the nation at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP has earlier alleged a plot by Oduduwa Nation Agitators, to disrupt the peace, security and electoral process in the South West during the forthcoming elections.
