Nigerian Singer Mavo Apologises to Superstars Over Old Posts

Nigerian singer Mavo has apologised to several music stars after old social media posts in which he criticised prominent Nigerian artistes resurfaced online.

The singer addressed the backlash on X, reflecting on his early years as an entertainment critic while he was at university.

Mavo admitted that he was once highly critical of Nigerian superstars before deciding to stop commenting on their careers and focus on building his own music career.

He said the decision has allowed him to enjoy his journey in the music industry and develop relationships with some of the artistes he previously criticised.

Mavo also acknowledged that some of his past comments may have hurt the people he wrote about and apologised for what he described as his misjudgment.

He noted that meeting several of the artistes personally gave him a different perspective, saying they turned out to be “amazing people.”

The singer ended his message with a call for love and understanding, saying: “Let love lead.”

Mavo has continued to build his profile as a young Nigerian artiste following his transition from entertainment commentary to music.
