Nigerian Railway Corporation to Launch Special Train Services for the Yuletide Season

Nigerian Railway Corporation to Launch Special Train Services for the Yuletide Season

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced its plans to operate special train services during the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance the festive experience for Nigerians and ensure affordable transportation options during the holiday season.

The special train services are being implemented in compliance with a directive from the Federal Government through the Ministry of Transportation.

The NRC will run these services on scheduled passenger train routes across the country, making it easier for citizens to travel and visit family and friends during the holidays.

Specific details regarding the dates and modalities of the special train services will be communicated in the coming weeks. The NRC has assured passengers that they will be informed well in advance to facilitate their travel plans.

In their announcement, the NRC extended warm wishes to all customers, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.

This initiative follows last year’s successful implementation of discounted travel options, which included a 50% discount for inter-state road travel and a 100% discount for train trips during the festive period. The government aims to replicate this success to benefit even more passengers this year.

The NRC’s special train services are set to provide a convenient and affordable travel option for many Nigerians during the festive season, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving transportation services across the country.
