The Nigerian Falconets have arrived in Poland for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, seeking their first title after finishing runners-up to Germany in two previous finals.
Nigeria booked its place after overcoming Rwanda 5-0, Senegal 3-1 and Malawi 3-2 on aggregate in the African qualifiers. The result also extended the Falconets’ record of appearing at every edition of the tournament since 2002.
Coach Moses Aduku says his squad has no injury concerns and will approach the competition one game at a time. The team warmed up with a 1-0 victory over Poland and a 1-1 draw against South Korea.
Precious Oscar, 17, will attract attention after her goal against Malawi secured Nigeria’s World Cup ticket. FIFA has named the forward among its players to watch in Poland.
The Falconets begin their Group F campaign against Spain on September 7, followed by matches against China on September 10 and New Caledonia on September 13 in Łódź.
